People on various message boards have claimed clearing your hardrive's system cache fixes the problem (go to system setting, memory, and with hardrive selected, press y for device options). This did not work for me.
Their servers are overloaded and they are trying to fix the problem. LOTS OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM. Those who aren't, are having the games crash among other things. It's not that the game is "broken", it's just that there are SOO many people who want to play.

I have just got Gears of War 3 and Space marine and i'm playing them alot and I have pre-orderd Battlefield 3 but I don't wont to get the Beta because I want to play Gears of war 3 and Space marine before Battlefield 3 comes out. Well, black ops and battle field are 2 completely different games as I'm sure u can see. I do not believe you can see them at all in the beta. Sometimes I get a ribbon for spotting them but i don't think this shows up on the Mini map. I hope this answered you question.

I was only disappointed as I was forced to use the rotting trash that is EA Origin in order to play it. The graphics were beautiful and the gameplay was good, some bugs but still a decent beta experience.
If they removed the Origin requirements or released it on Steam I would happily buy it on the PC.
Also the console versions are running the game on what the PC version detects as low settings.
I don't care for graphics, I could play 2d flash games, Thing Thing is one of my favorite games, and it is a 2d flash game. Yea same here. Apparently they delayed it since Sony is doing maintenance on the PSN Store. So we'll have to wait at least until 11 or 12. I just downloaded the Battlefield 3 open beta for Xbox 360, but every time I hit the multiplayer button, it sometimes loads for a few seconds and then goes to a message or it goes straight to the message. I just googled Battlefield 3 beta release date and something came up that was posted 11 hours ago that according to DICE the Battlefield 3 beta was ready to go, and was just waiting to be confirmed by MS %26amp; Sony, so should we expect the beta very soon now?Battlefield 3 beta ready for release?
The Beta is ready but yes as you said Microsoft and Sony need to OK it first so DICE are holding the PC version off too (not sure why). It should be released to Pre-Order customers and MOH buyers in the next week or so and everone else 2 days after its release.

Battlefield 3 Beta: Audio echoing, character leaving behind his arms and lower body?
whenever i try and walk the characters lower body and arms stays in that spot with the arms and gun. This is super frustrating because i cant see my gun 90% of the time. The audio is also very annoying because it repeats several times. Is this a problem on my end if it is what can i do to fix it.

You need to have the "Bipod" attachment unlocked for the LMG you're using and make sure you have a flat surface to mount it on (ground, solid floor, or ledge). Once you aim down your sights, the bipod will automatically deploy.
You have to make sure you are 'absolutely' still, or the bipod 'will not' deploy. If you have a worn analog sticks like mine, it'll be very difficult to get the bipod to deploy every time because your character is sliding or making very tiny movements.
Doesn't matter what system, just make sure you have a bipod attached and enter aim-mode while either close to a mount-able surface (i.e. low walls) or prone. Am I the only one that has lag problems with the Battlefield 3 beta?
Now I have an Asus G72X with 6GB of RAM intel Core 2 Duo processor and GeForce GTX 260M graphics card and i experience my gun and sight dissapearing, distorted sound, my teamates dissapeaaring, and slow to die when it states im dead. Is it my laptop or is it just the terrible Battlefield 3 serversAm I the only one that has lag problems with the Battlefield 3 beta?
I have a g71 with an identical card...its actually based on a a 8800GT rather than a true gtx260
However this architecture DOES meet minimum spec...560 is a recommended spec not minimum
The gtx260m has been reported to be choppy by a number of benchmark testers despite fps remaining in the mid 25 ish. There might be an issue with this card as lcards with lower spec and less vram (the gtx260m has 1gb) have lower fps but are less choppy.

To other posters my asus g71 plays BC2 mp at 1080p 45fpsno probs so "you can't game on a laptop" is BS
but aging laptops can't hack it with BF3:(
Fraid to say save your pennies and get a desktop...700$ self build will get a decent amd quad 965BE HD6870 build...good for 50-60fps on high in the betaAm I the only one that has lag problems with the Battlefield 3 beta?
You might click "Configure filters" or whatever and then have it list the servers, and try connecting to one close to you. I did that yesterday because I was experiencing horrible lag. I think I was playing on a server in Argentina, because everyone was speaking Spanish or Portugese... Anyway, I also have a GTX 260, and guess what - it does not meet the minimum requirements for the game. An ATX 560 is the MINIMUM card they recommend! So I am shopping around for a card, and have posted several questions this evening trying to decide on one.
So, far away servers, unsupported graphics card.. and the fact that it is a Beta... I'm sure the answer lies in there somewhere.

P.S. Some of the video cards I am looking at, like HD6970, require a power supply that is more powerful than my current one.. so let's see... $400 for a video card, $50 for a power supply, $60 for Battlefield 3 when it comes out... $510? Remind me again why I haven't switched to Xbox?

Make sure you download the beta drivers available from Nvidia. Due to it being a beta graphical glitches should be expected. Laptops do not run games as well as an actual desktop computer would so there will always be slightly more problems. I do not suffer from any lag problems that you specify though.lipstick stains

The problem isn't with Xbox LIVE Family settings, it's with the birth date that you put on your EA Account, go back into the EA Account settings and change your birth date to something that says you're over 18.make eyeshadow

How to get into Battlefield 3 beta for PC?
I pre-ordered BF3 last night for download on my PC. I have origin, it is in my library. However, it says it is currently unavailable and I click on it and nothing happens.

Console: Pretty boring, one map one gametype with no vehicle play available for beta. People glitching under maps on the PS3. Looks okay, nowhere near what PC looks like (obviously). But they said it would look amazing on the console, could just be that it is a beta. A lot of rendering issues. No one talks on the PS3 either, so it feels like you're playing with a bunch of bots and it's pretty difficult to come up with some sort of plan with no communication. You can talk in the beta, just nobody actually talks.

You have to get X many kills for a certain gun. To put it on, die, when it's on class selection press x (on xbox). Choose the class that the gun is in, press a and scroll down to the last option. The reason you might not be able to download it is because you have too little space or something is wrong with your internet connection. If you didn't, you can go to the forum and get support from there. Or, you can just wait until Thursday, when everyone gets in. The early access is only 2 days.
Edit: Decided to add clarification. The code should be sent to the address connected to your gamertag for your chosen platform. If you did not connect to the EA servers using an email and gamertag, you won't get the code.

i downloaded the beta today at around 3 and i played it for about half an hour then it stopped working. and now every time i try to log in, it says "connection to ea lost" or something like that. i tried unplugging my modem deleted then re downloaded it again and it still gives me the same message. what is wrong????Why wont the battlefield 3 beta work on my xbox 360?

I downloaded Origin to play the beta for Battlefield 3. I installed it and today turned my computer on and pressed "play." then it said "playing..." my status was "playing Battlefield 3 Beta" and then they both disappeared and then nothing happened. Because its not available until Tomorow (29th) The beta thats up at the moment can only be accessed by people who purchased Medal of Honor or Pre-Ordered BF3 through the Origin store. It will be available to everyone else tommorow at around 11am GMT. Be warned though, i had a friend who was emailed a pass for the beta and he was saying it took about 45minutes before he was able to play as there were technical difficulties, so im guessing that when it comes out tommoro there will be ALOT more people trying to download and play it at the same time so dont be surprised if it takes you a while to be able to start the download or to play once its been downloaded.Why cant i get the battlefield 3 beta on the ps3?

I think it's okay... for me it was a little bit of a letdown only because of how much hype it had received and because of how much people are glorifying it.
I love the game because it has realistic graphics and the sound in the game is amazing.
I just don't like all of the bugs in the beta. its just a beta anyways so they are going to fix every single bug I the full release of the game, just like the gears of war 3 beta.
and if you don't like the gameplay, then its mostly because you are used to playing cod games and just rush or just try and do trick shots. battlefield is a realistic game witch means realistic tactics such as hinding in a distance and kill enemies who are trying to get your objective.Who else thinks the Battlefield 3 beta blows?

well there's no pleasing everyone. no game can ever do that. as for bf3 I found it had better graphics and the parkour thingy is cool. but I prefer bad company 2. I'm not a pc player so I'm getting the bad end. I'm sure the pc version is way better

Yeah, it's really nice to look at but the gameplay was a bit stiff. They tried too hard to make it realistic. In the end what it comes down to is that it's a video game and gameplay is what matters the most. There's a reason why the Call of Duty franchise is more popular.

Not to mention the beta didn't even have any vehicles. It's a whole different game with vehicles. If you've played BF2 think how bad the game would be without the vehicles...It would blow. Also the level Metro doesn't even begin to show what BF's maps have to offer... But new things I like about that game... Mountable LMG's is pretty cool. And in FPS's, even COD's. when you run into an obstacle on the map, to get over it, you have to stop and press a button to climb on top of it, and keep going.. On BF3, you can actually hurdle over obstacles.your cosmetics

It feel much more like a slower version of Call of Duty than Battlefield. I don't know if you ever played Battlefield 2 or Bad Company 2, but they're games that use HUGE maps, and although Operation Metro is big, it doesn't have the huge draw distances that the previous games had. The game gets more fun the more you play it, I'm level 15 or so and I'm having more than when I started. There are plenty of bugs and crappy textures but the final game will probably be much smoother. The beta was released mostly to build hype, but also to test the servers (the main technical goal) along with some user feedback -- although EA probably won't listen.Who else thinks that the Battlefield 3 beta isnt that good?
The only problem the Beta has is that they chose Operation Metro as the Beta map. I played Caspian Border on the PC beta, before they removed it from the server list, and it was like playing an entirely different game when compared to Operation Metro in my opinion. If you haven't seen Caspian Border yet, look it up on Youtube, its easily 100 times better than Metro.Who else thinks that the Battlefield 3 beta isnt that good?

Caspian border map was only for pc to promote bf and the beta. Today the map was removed from the pc since testing on it was done. Was put in for the pc for 64 players and vehicles

Type into the search box 'Battlefield 3 Beta' and select 'Title' in the box beneath it, then search. It should be the first one to come up.
Click into that and select 'Download', then it will be downloaded to your PS3 at a little over a Gigabyte! :) enjoy!

Its a known issue. Lots of forums talking about. The reason I usually get is that the PC Beta was a last minute add-on and they just kinda threw it out there. XBOX %26amp; PS3 have no controller setting issues that I have seen. Dont expect a fix. I would cancel. Though my friends and I were all going to play, we've now all canceled since the beta.
You can't deny that BF3 is unparalleled in so many ways, but the most important thing in any FPS is the ability to shoot people %26amp; BF3 hit detection is more broken than even BC2... thats just sad.

Yeah I was never a BF fan, I love CoD but it's not like I hate BF so I tried the beta and really didn't like it at all, played it for 45 mins and had enough. Most BF fanboys rave about the graphics but I don't think they were even on par with black ops! And the gameplay is terrible compared to any CoD.
i think the in game environment is a bit to clean. if you look at bc2 vietnam you will see what i mean.
lots of people said it too much like MOH which seems to be not a good game. i never played MOH
so i wont know about that.
i don't see the point in all these stupid gun scopes which you will never use and all the useless
special abilities you can unlock. i think dice went abit over the top with the unlocks.
reaching rank 50 is very easy and can be done within 3 days. its just all the dam Accessories what are a pain in the azz.
I'm really enjoying it. It has its problems, but most of my issues are with bugs that will be fixed at release. Betas are inherently buggy, that's what makes them beta.
The only gameplay related problem I have is that snipers are a bit OP.
I like it. I actually canceled getting Modern Warfare 3 so that I could buy Battlefield 3 instead. In my opinion, that's a very smart decision and I used to like Call of Duty more. LOL.
It's bad, but its not bad enough to make me cancel my pre-order. Keep in mind that it is a Beta, not the finished product.
