Battlefield 3 Beta, do you need the MoH disk to play?

I bought the MoH special edition which gives me access to the battlefield 3 beta, however I sold it a while ago, but recently I received an email from EA saying that I have a spot on the beta, do I still need the disk to play the beta or will they make it a download?Battlefield 3 Beta, do you need the MoH disk to play?
I don't think its the disk you should be worried about but a code, unless you've already registered the game and everything, then i doubt very much you'll need to have the disk to play the beta.
